Safety Lessons from MPD
CHAMPS members sat down with MPD District One Commander Morgan Kane during our September advocacy breakfast. We had a productive conversation and our business community has a real partner with MPD. Here’s a few quick takeaways:
- Remind yourself, neighbors, and clients to not leave valuables in plain sight in your car and walk without distraction of headphones, smart phones, etc. Non-violent crimes of opportunity are on the rise.
- Contact 911. 911 not only provides the quickest response, but these call records give MPD the best stats to work from to request and deploy officers to best meet the need of our community.
- Contact Commander Kane & she will respond! 202/299-2037 (o), 202/809-1275 (c), firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Need response for homeless in our community? Contact Melvyn Smith with Department of Human Services. 202/545-3191 (o), 202/744-8851 (c), email@example.com.
