Job Description: CHAMPS Executive Director – part time, 20-24 hours a week.

The CHAMPS Executive Director (ED) is a key representative for the Capitol Hill business community.  The ED is responsible for furthering the CHAMPS mission to advocate, connect, and promote Capitol Hill businesses in order to strengthen the community and build prosperity through a healthy economy. 

Membership: CHAMPS Executive Director engages with the Capitol Hill business community to grow and sustain membership, which is the organization’s primary source of revenue.  The ability to build membership is vital to success.  The ED plans, organizes and oversees a range of services and events for members.  Current programs include the monthly Entrepreneur and Storefront Working Groups, quarterly and annual (June) meetings, and the Holiday Sip & Shop (December).

Administration and Marketing: CHAMPS Executive Director handles all administrative and marketing needs of the organization including bookkeeping, website administration, membership works program, online calendar, member and community newsletters, blog entries and social media engagement.

Advocacy: CHAMPS Executive Director takes an active part in local and city government.  The ED works closely with the Board of Directors to identify laws, regulations and general neighborhood issues that affect member businesses.  CHAMPS role is to educate its members of key issues and concerns and to advocate for business best interests.  Current programs include advocacy and briefings designed to strengthen communication among city political leaders, agency directors, and Capitol Hill businesses. 

The CHAMPS Executive Director performs the varied roles of the organization in collaboration with and under the supervision of the organization’s Board of Directors.
